seemed so familiar.
WHO: Cid Raines & Rygdea
WHAT: Modern day Cid & Ryg. Post Lightning Returns, they're reborn and...well, are drawn into similar careers.
WHERE: New York City.
WARNINGS: Not sure I need one at the moment.
[ Rygdea was dressed in his uniform as he traveled the city. Off and on, he had these things that just seemed to come automatically to him. Like, he didn't even remember when he had decided to join the military. It just seemed like it was the only option to him. The best one. For Rygdea, there were no other options. He knew that deciding what to do with your life didn't come that easily for everyone, and he was grateful he didn't have to spend years trying to figure himself out.
There were a couple of places he always liked to visit when he had the down time, and he had spent the day out and about. His day out was busy, and before long he'd have to head back to the base and get back to work. He still had a few more days off before then, though. So he made his way towards the subway so that he could take it back to his small apartment on the other side of the city.
He took his seat near the door so that he would make sure he didn't miss his chance to get off. ]

Military, then?
no subject
I am. ...I assume you are as well?
no subject
[ The military was awfully large, though. It felt more...personal than that. Like they were friends. ]
I am. On a break right now, we don't have that many of 'em.
no subject
[It does, and Cid doesn't quite get it. Anyway, he assumes Rygdea's local because he actually seems comfortable on the train. Most tourists don't.]
no subject
[ So he's lived here long enough to be comfortable. ]
So for a few years. Ya sure we've never met?

Cid chastises himself immediately. He doesn't just up and find things attractive, not this quickly.]
I doubt it, though you do somehow seem similar to me.
[He closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, tries to remember.]
Captain. You were...a Captain.

[ He closes his eyes and laughs. He's so comfortable with this person. It's weird. He likes it. He relaxes into his seat. ]
I'm thinkin' the same thing. It's like...I don't know, someone erased a memory I'm supposed to have.

It's stupid, but it's just a start.\

There's a bar coming up at a stop. If you want to do that. I think somewhere public might...
[ Keep him from doing or saying something stupid. ]
no subject
Lead the way, by all means. I rarely go to bars.
no subject
Alright.
[ He's quiet for several moments until they get to the stops, and the doors open. ]
This is the one. After you.
[ He stands. ]
no subject
And so he leads the way.
And doesn't bloody know which exit of the train station to leave.]
no subject
This way.

Cid never follows anyone's directions.
It's odd.
But following any of Rygdea's directions, as informal and casual as they are, intrigue him greatly. So he goes to the right. That way.]

Here we are.

He's still pondering why he's even here.
A shrug to himself, and Cid nods, heading into the bar once he sees Rygdea following. It's a decent enough place; not the classiest place he's ever been to, but thankfully not a dive bar or sports bar.]
no subject
He had heard about it before from an acquaintance on base. ]
Just relax.
[ All in all, he was spending this time trying to figure out how he knew this man. ]
