[ Things had been tense, and Charles was having to work harder than he ever had to before. He was no expert on rebuilding relationships, and it had been his fault. Not that he completely understood that what he had done was wrong, but it had hurt. Robbie was right to be hurt when Charles didn't keep in touch. He truly should have. Charles didn't enjoy admitting he was wrong, but instead preferred to try and fix any damage he had done. The house was typically quite quiet, as Charles usually preferred. It gave him time to read and research should he desire that.
He had been comfortably relaxing in one of the private offices of the house, finishing one of his many books. He closed it, shifted out of his chair, and replaced it on the small shelf in the room. This office was much different from the main office. This one simply had a desk, a chair, and 2 small bookshelves. It was designed for being alone, while the other was far more equipped for several.
He grabbed two glasses and a bottle of scotch (it was half-full), and went looking for Robbie. They would have a conversation. The added touch of alcohol made it a little bit easier for them to have conversations. ]
